RATES & RESERVATIONS
Shrine Mont follows The American Plan (1 night stay + 3 meals).
All rates are quoted per person per day, and are based on a two-night minimum (for Friday through Sunday reservations). You will be billed a per-person rate for two nights. We will not pro-rate charges for participants who only stay one night.
Rates include three meals per day. Guests who do not attend meals are still charged (there is no pro-rate for missed meals). When making a reservation, a deposit of $10/person is required upon receipt of the Confirmation Form to secure your reservation. Minimum $50 deposit for reservation of five or less.
2024 Rates
Standard double: $101 per person per night
Diocesan double: $89 per person per night
Standard single: $137 per person per night
Diocesan single: $115 per person per night
Children 4-13: $62 per child per night (Please note that in response to customer comments, the maximum age of a child for this rate has risen from 12 to 13)
Other Charges
Non-residential participants in a retreat/conference will be charged for their meals, in addition to a conference charge of $30.00 per day.
Management reserves the right to charge for any damages that occur (such as broken windows, etc.)
Lodging and Sales Tax
Virginia Department of Taxation (quoting retail and sales and use tax regulations): “Exemption from the sales tax on meals and accommodations provided by hotels, motels, restaurants, etc., is very limited.”
The following are not exempt from sales tax on meals and accommodations provided by hotels, and motels, etc.:
- Non-profit charitable or religious organizations including churches or church groups
- Schools, colleges, and other institutions of learning
- Local governments
- State governments

Cancellations
All cancellations must be made in writing and sent via email, fax or by mail.
Individual Cancellation for Shrine Mont Guests and Programs
Cancellations made 30 days before event’s start will be fully refunded less a $50 service fee
Cancellations made 14 – 29 days before the event’s start will be refunded 50% of the registration fee
Cancellations made less than 14 days before the event’s start will not be refunded.
Group Cancellation
Parish Retreats and other large groups paying a master bill are asked to send Shrine Mont $10 per person or $150, whichever is higher with confirmation of booking.
- Cancellations 90 days prior to scheduled arrival date – a full refund of deposit less a $50 processing fee.
- Cancellations 89-60 days prior to scheduled arrival date – 50% refund of deposit less a $50 processing fee.
- Cancellation less than 60 days prior to your arrival – no refund of deposit.
Attendance Guarantee
Shrine Mont requires confirmation of your group’s guaranteed attendance sixty (60) days prior to your arrival. At that time our staff will work with you to assure your group has adequate housing and meeting space.
If the guarantee is not met within 10%, you will be billed the full adult rate on the difference between the guarantee and the actual attendance. For example, if 100 people are guaranteed and 80 attend, Shrine Mont will allow 10% shrinkage (to 90 people). Your group will be charged for the 90 at full rate.
Ten (10) days before your arrival, please inform Shrine Mont of any special dietary needs and confirm meeting space set up and other needs such as bonfires and such.
Standing Reservations
In order to maintain your standing dates, we require that you officially re-book the date from year to year; otherwise we will assume that you are forfeiting your date. Re-booking procedures include a $10 per person, minimum $50, deposit within 60 days of your departure along with a completed confirmation form.
Billing
Shrine Mont will bill your organization after the end of the retreat. The organization’s coordinator will fill out a Check-Out Form at the front desk before departing. Payment is expected within 10 days of receiving your bill. Checks should be made payable to Shrine Mont. VISA and MasterCard are accepted for individual reservations.
