Spring Digital Photography
Want to find out what Resolution, and Mega Pixels are all about and learn to speak the digital lingo? In this class, you will learn how to
- use your digital camera more effectively,
- review the fundamentals of image capture and camera operation, proper exposure
- how to use your flash
Every day, assignments will allow you to explore the Shrine Mont environment photographically, and then share images in class to help you troubleshoot and develop a creative eye.
Students are expected to provide a digital camera with manual adjustments, (a on top with P,A,S or Tv, M settings). Make sure to bring the camera’s manual and an external storage device of at least 4 gigabytes to take home your images. Your own laptop would be helpful, but is not necessary.
Regula Franz is a documentary photographer and instructor who holds a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts. For the past 10 years, she has been teaching classes in Digital and Travel Photography, as well as Fine Ar Digital Printing at the VMFA Studio School and the Visual Arts Center of Richmond. Shrine Mont is nestled at the foot of the Great North Mountain in Orkney Springs, VA thirteen miles west of Interstate 81 and is two hours from Washington, DC and a little less than three hours from downtown Richmond.
