Yoga at Shrine Mont is very notable this year. Shrine Mont is 100 years old and everything planned this year is extra special. The Simply Yoga Retreat marks its 9th year and each retreat held at Shrine Mont has been different and awesome because we always have wonderful people who attend. Shrine Mont offers hiking and space for contemplative strolls, a labyrinth, pure mineral spring water, and nourishing and delicious, homestyle southern meals. Chefs are also able to accommodate vegetarians and gluten free diets.
This year the theme is “Deep Relaxation” – let the movement and stillness of yoga and meditation relax your body and your mind. Experience different kinds of yoga such as yin, restorative and Hatha. Also, enjoy various types of meditation – mindfulness, mantra, loving kindness, guided, etc…
Your host for the weekend is Debbie Scalise. She teaches Silver Sneakers and yoga at Valley Fitness; as well as yoga in her community, Preston Lake. She also teaches a variety of workshops for JMU’s Life Long Learning; as well as workshops with friend and herbalist, Dabney Vaccaro. This weekend will include guest yoga instructors to offer fun and variety to this special weekend.
