Sound & Movement in the Mountains: Yoga, Dance, Song, Sound
Before exercise and wellness programs, humans walked, breathed, danced, and sang. Our newest offering at Shrine Mont is a weekend retreat that starts with the core, time-honored practices of mindful movement, meditation, and time in nature. Gentle, facilitated sessions of dance and song, along with yoga, qi gong, and tai chi, invite you deeper into a state of balance and wellbeing.*
Mornings start with sunrise tai chi or qi gong. Enjoy hatha yoga after breakfast and breakout sessions with expressive dance and music. Choose to hike, read by the pond, or simply rest Saturday afternoon. Evenings offer yin yoga, guided meditation for deep relaxation, star gazing, and a bonfire. The weekend also includes ample time for swimming, forest bathing, walking the labyrinth, and exploring the quaint village of Orkney Springs.
*Movement and meditation practices aim to be accessible to all.
Shrine Mont, set in the beautiful mountains of the Shenandoah Valley, is a step back in time. Homestyle, southern meals are served and chefs are able to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diets.
